january is always life organization and self-help binge month. make the changes at the beginning of the year (!) and so on. still, i comfort myself that these sorts of books do occasionally have valuable things to say, and they are great to recommend to clients.

i have been reading this one slowly, and trying to actually do the little exercises she suggests. i enjoy this approach because the author is an architect and not a shrink. i can speak shrink in my sleep, so this book has a lot of metaphor and thinking that feels fresh and useful.

if you've been looking to create a manual for how you live well, this book would be a good choice.
