South: The story of Shackleton's last expedition 1914 - 1917
by Ernest Shackleton
by Ernest Shackleton
I had read all the other books about the Shackleton/Endurance expedition (The Endurance by Caroline Alexander, Trial by Ice -a photobiography of Sir Ernest Shackleton, An Epic of Polar Adventure-Endurance by Worsley, Endurance by Alfred Lansing and also the AE movie Shackleton), so I wanted to hear the story from Shackleton's own mouth. This is a a detailed version--more of a log but it adds to the other versions because it also includes what happened to the Ross Expedition which were to lay depots for the Shackleton expedition.
