Marvelous. The plot twist is so good, so unexpected, that I had to stop reading and put it aside for a day, just to be able to appreciate the impact. And truly a cross over book, it can easily be placed in numerous categories. I'm looking forward to reading other novels by Waters.

Patricia I love Sarah Waters. I've read all of her novels and this is one of the best. She's not in the least formulaic though there is often a spectral element in her stories. She seems to be moving forward in time. Night Watch is very intriguing. It takes place during World War II.
