Not a big fan of science fiction but I did enjoy this book. I even liked it more then Engine of God. Even though this book was a sequel to Engine of God it really didn't advance the EOG story. Has some of the same characters such as Priscilla Hutchins "Hutch" who saves the day in Deepsix. Deepsix is a planet that will be destroyed by a huge moving gas field. However, it is discovered there are artifacts on Deepsix that can be rescued before the destruction of the planet. Hutch is the closest pilot in the area. She along with five others begin to explore the planet before things go wrong and they won't be able to get off. Enjoyed the new mix of characters.

Not a big fan of the Sky Hook. Seemed like a made up way to save the day. Fun read.
