I loved this book. The meandering, internal stream-of-consciousness style may not be for everyone, but it is just right for me. Even more important is that this is one of the first books I have read that could be classified as "post 9/11 literature." Not that it is about 9/11 -- not at all. One story touches on it. But what it does is it captures life in NYC post 9/11 with an unselfconsciousness and honesty that I have not yet seen -- usually it's not till a decade, at least, after something like this happens that you are able to get any good literature from it. For this alone, it is worth it.
