A quick, enjoyable read. It's surprising that I'd not heard of this book until John Scalzi talked about it - he's written an new book in Piper's Fuzzy universe.

The characters are great, if not as innocent as the Fuzzies themselves: a race of semi-sentient affectionate natives on a planet rich in resources that a hungry human population craves. The good guys and bad guys are easily delineated and don't cross boundaries; which, for me, is one of the biggest knocks against classic sci-fi. However, that separation works well in this book. I consumed it rapidly and didn't pause to analyze it until I was finished.
