** spoiler alert ** i would have given it a 3 1/2 if i could but it's not that i didn't enjoy it,it had nice characters and a nice back story although a little too thin and the drama(you know the OBSTACLE any self-respecting romance couple has to overcome) was different enough that it made things interesting since it is the men that are afraid of commitment usually and not the other way around at least in that era.the problem with this book was that in 90% of it you were told that Julia/Jessica wanted her independence above all and Damon was an all or nothing guy and in the end she just found the right thing to do bevause she got pregnant!i mean come on he had to give her coplete freedom for to even begin to think a rational solution? and why and i repaet why?? did she ever think of marrying Logan!!really?getting married to a man you don't care about is a good way to keep your freedom?waht about not getting married at all?but ok all plot-holes aside (i mean you kind of expect them at some point) my biggest issue was Damon,ok you are the dark brooding ,cold hearted (until the right girl comes around) hero but it is the first time in a romance novel that i felt awkward reading about what he did,he got her kidnapped for crying out loud!!shouldn't he be the one saving her from kidnappers??and he was so forcefull and arrogant at times it was hard to root for him!and just when i thought Julias independent mind and hate for submission would kick in and just punch him or something the only thing that happened kept kikcing in was her libbido-i really wanted her stronger, she gave up money, safety and a title to stand on her own feet and when she makes it she let a guy handle her like nothing because he's hot!well ok i ranted enough what can i say i have a soft spot for strong heroines and she looked like one,all in all i liked it and i am going to try some other books of the same author -weak heroine aside it was a well written boo-oh and i am reading the next one too i want to see Logan Scott in love!
