it was amazing

A non-fiction account of two stories that occurred simultaneously in Chicago in the 1890's; 1) the story of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair ('The White City') and 2) the story of a serial killer who operated in Chicago before and during the fair. The book gives an interesting insight into the mode of life in Chicago at the end of the 19th century and describes the origin of many things which were created because of the Fair and which are commonly recognized today.
