Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, #4)
by Charlaine Harris
by Charlaine Harris
By far the best book in the series so far. I am not a fan of Bill, so I'm glad that Sookie and Eric finally had a steamy love scene. However, I was a bit disappointed in the "war" between the supes/vamps and the coven of witches. It felt like it was too simple, and over too quickly. For such a powerful witch, Hallow and her crew were easily defeated within a couple of paragraphs. Definitely not the climatic moment I was expecting.
As much as I like Eric and Sookie together, it's the "memory-wiped" Eric I like. I don't know how I feel yet about "regular" Eric and Sookie together. But, maybe that's my history of dating conceited, arrogant jerks speaking :) I'm intrigued by Alcide. Depsite his hang up over Debbie (no longer a problem) I really like how he and Sookie interact. As Sookie said...he gets her. For once, a Werewolf should be allowed to defeat a vampire in a romance battle for a human haha.
The added twist of is or isn't Jason going to transform at the next full moon is one I like. He definitely deserves to be knocked down a few pegs! A twist I didn't care for was the appearance of the fairy. What is her purpose...besides being intoxicating to vamps? I felt like her character was carelessly thrown in just so the author could include another mythical creature into the small town of Bon Temps.
Overall, this novel definitely left a lot of questions up in the air that made me want to pick up the next book to find out what's going to happen next....which I already did!

Lol, and that's why I'm looking so forward to this season of True Blood. That scene was steamier than anything Bill and Sookie had together!
