F is for Fugitive (Kinsey Millhone #6)
by Sue Grafton
by Sue Grafton
The 6th book in Grafton's series, Kinsey is hired by a family who's son was accused of murdering his girlfriend over 10 years previously. While he was initially in prison for her murder, he escaped and made a life for himself, most recently being picked up because the identity he stole happened to have a warrant issued on it.
I still struggle with wrapping my mind around what year it is. I'll be reading along and everything meshes with the present, until Kinsey does something that reminds me we're back in the 1980's. It doesn't detract too much, but it's always just enough to throw me off a bit. This really came to bear when she went to the high school to look at old yearbooks.
This series would make a great TV show, even with it being held in the 1980's. Each book is like a little hour's worth of mystery and drama, with a resolved ending. One of the things I enjoy best about this series is that I can read through these pretty quick. AND, I very rarely have the right person picked out to be the murderer!
