This author irritates me because he writes in such a MALE way. All of his characters are written with such a male point of view. He obviously identifies strongly with Richard. The Walter at the beginning of the book bears zero resemblance to the Walter at the end of the book, and I found many of the relationships between characters not particularly believable. Still, an interesting, fast-moving, well-written story. I would recommend to others, with the above caveats. This was much better than The Corrections.

Marcy Duarte I just started this one last night. So far, so good.

Eva I hate to admit I can't put it down. I have a problem with this author and all his characters, yet his is a really compelling story.
