The Legacy of Pemberly is the 10th and final novel in The Pemberley Chronicles. This last novel takes place 50 years after the beginning of the Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice with the Darcy's being grandparents. There are a lot of original characters and some new ones added to the story. What this book does is tie up all the loose ends with the families. Yes there are a few of the beloved characters that have passed away and new additions to the families depicted in the book, including new families not mentioned before. In concluding the story of the friends and families of Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth Darcy I feel that the author did a wonderful job of finishing the storyline that was started in Book 1: A Companion Volume to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and that to further the story that was told was the future generations and the legacy left to them by Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy. I was sad to see this novel end as this series is one of my favorite sequels to Jane Austens work. I do like Rebecca Ann Collins writing and look forward to anything else she may write in the future.
