The politicians in this world have the worst concept of damage control ever. They've got this troublesome girl on their hands, who is so popular she's become the mascot for a nationwide revolt. So what do they do? Torture her publicly, and make it mandatory viewing for the entire populace!

Bad idea on their part, but it makes for good fiction. Like its predecessor, The Hunger Games, this is a massively entertaining book. For various reasons, my sleep schedule is off lately. But when I woke up last night at midnight, I was happy about it; I brewed up a pot of coffee and stayed up for a couple hours finishing the book.
