Read from December 09 to 11, 2010

Sometime in the future, the US as we know it has been destroyed. It's now divided into 12 poor districts and a gleaming capital. People are poor and starving, but as a form of entertainment 2 teenagers from each district are chosen to compete in the hunger games aka a fight to the death.

The winner doesn't have to worry about food ever again. The main character took her little sister's spot as a fighter. She, and the other "tribute" from their district, in her mind, pretend to be star-crossed lovers to win the hearts of the viewers (little does she know, but the boy actually is in love with her).

I don't want to give away the ending, but its one of the best books I've read in a long time. Reading this book was ALL I wanted to do this weekend, and I'm actually pretty sad that it ended. I can't wait to read the second and third to see how it ends.
