The story setting takes place right after the financial crisis where everyone needs to tighten their purse strings and do some cut backs. At Becky's work, the shoppers are shopping less, until Becky comes up with a brilliant plan of secret shopping...or is it a brilliant plan.

On the home front, for Becky, the cut back is no buying new clothes (a deal she made with Luke), so she turns to the barter system brought on by her sister, Jess's urging. People are answering her ads, but surely who wouldn't when you put up brand name items to barter. Of course, Becky still gets into her shopaholic mode, thinking that she's saving "oh so much money" at the pound store, while buying crap like "Happy Birthday Mike" napkins, I mean she is buying necessities isn't she?

Other beloved characters make an appearance in this book as well, Suze, Janice, Tom, Danny just to name a few. They all get into their own escapade in this book.

The financial crisis is a lot bearable with Becky by your side.
