really liked it
Read from November 08 to 12, 2010

Free Kindle download. I genuinely liked this story! It starts off with magic on the first page, so right away you can tell you're in some kind of alternate universe where nobility are where they are in life not because of what land and titles they've inherited but because of what magical powers they've inherited or acquired some other way. The tone of the story is set immediately, and what you have is a combination of fairy tale, erotica, paranormal romance, and Xanthian magic. The combination is pulled off pretty well, too — I found myself fascinated and engaged. Enchanted, if you will.

I enjoyed the characters. The spell on the heroine reminded me of a fairy tale I read in a school textbook once, but it was a nice twist — like a nicer, more adult retelling of the story, with more magic.

I'll definitely be reading more from the author when I get the chance.
