This is the tale of Roald Dahl and his time in Africa and as a pilot during world war 2. The book is full of interesting animals, plane crashes and more. Students will get another perspective of the war from reading this memoir along with a great deal of geographic information. Somewhat dry and not what you would expect from Dahl but still a rather interesting read. Could be used in fifth grade Social studies.
