It's fascinating to hear about the politics behind the historical events of the revolutionary generation. James Madison was always behind the scenes pulling the strings!

Mark Johnny! What did you think about my boy Jefferson and Adams hating each other? My favorite line in the book is "Jefferson much like Voltaire wanted to strangle the last aristocrat with the entrails of the last priest" .

Ob-jonny I think it's hilarious that Adams would write 30 letters to Jefferson's 5 in a particular month. Adams really needed to be validated. Jefferson really had a lot of class. Although supposedly Adams was the last truly bipartisan president. That's a great quote you had about Jefferson. It's amazing to discover what a radical Jefferson was!
