Childhood, Boyhood, and Youth
by Leo Tolstoy
by Leo Tolstoy
Pretty interesting read. The 'character' of the young man is so amusing, I kept forgetting this was actually considered autobiographical. Although, part of the interest is that Tolstoy portrays himself as just another self-absorbed kid. It's hard to wrap your mind around the idea that a man who could write War & Peace or Anna Karenina was just another egotistical, know-it-all teenager. Or at least, that's how he looks back on himself.
A good read if you're really into his work.
