This story is based on a concept by the Duchess of Northumberland who has created beautiful gardens in the grounds of Alnwick Castle. It took a while for the story to really get interesting and I found the first half very slow. The second part which was narrated by both Jessamine and Weed was more intriguing and the pace of the story picked up. I enjoyed it enough to think that I will probably continue with the series, although I hope the sequel captures my attention more.
