recommended for: Absolutely any girl/woman who even KINDA likes the fantasy genre.
I read this book after watching the anime, and wanted to fill some of the holes that the anime left.
What an amazing book. World creation, character development, storyline...the book has such an old, cherished internal themes (and matches up with the daydreams of many, I would bet), but is done in such a fresh way that it's quite unlike anything else. Very empowering, powerful little series. I am, however, very unhappy that only one book a year will be translated...I'll be almost 40 before the entire thing hits the States and it hurts me on the inside that I can't read the whole thing, you know, NOW.
