I find Harlan Coben's books to be quite readable. His main character, Myron Bolitar is a very sympathetic character. This is a very involved plot, with many people seeming to be capable of murder. Most of the supporting characters aren't especially nice people so one can't really care what happens to them. The idea of an ex- pro basketball player getting a chance to return to the game. however short a time, is interesting.
