This is one of those dystopian novels that ventures a bit too far on the preachy side. I felt pretty chastised by the end with not a lot of ideas about what to do to prevent such a future. Still, it was an intriguing idea and kept me reading. Also, the end is a bit more hopeful than your standard dystopian fare. This reminded me quite a bit of the book Ella Minnow Pea - both deal largely with the freedom of speech and the interesting ways that governing bodies can control our thoughts and actions by limiting our access to language.
