6th grade

A young girl name Hollis woods is an orphan. She is classified at a young age as a “Problem” and is shipped off to many different homes. This last home is life changing for Hollis. She ends up at Josie’s house, an old lady who is a little offbeat. She describes her as different. Hollis loves to draw and draws her feelings though out the story. Now feeling like she belongs here with Josie. This book is broken up in to Picture chapters where Hollis describes a picture she is drawing and chapters in which she is with Josie.
This book would be a great book to help student develop story idea. With the complexity of this story it could help show student s that a story does not have to be black and white. This story could help students see that a story does not have to come out and say the main idea but can be developed through out the story.
