it was amazing
bookshelves: 9th-grade
Read from November 17 to December 04, 2010

This book is about a guy, Tyrone Johnson, that everyone calls Ty for short. He started taking over his dad's business at age 16 considering his dad is in jail. The family business is dealing with drugs which Ty's mother disagrees with greatly. Ty hasn't been the best student in school so he gets kicked out and gets sent to a different school so he won't fall behind in school and so he won't end up a dealer like his dad. At his new school Ty falls for a girl, Alyse who is in to him but not the drugs. Ty has a choice between keeping his dad's business or succeeding in school and getting a great girl.

I'm gonna make a text-to-world connection. I can connect this to the world because on the outside there are a great amount of people who deal and do drugs. In this book many of the characters can relate to this. Almost every character had a relationship with drugs in a way. This can connect to the outside world because a lot of people are associated with drugs these days.

I give this book five stars. The reason why i give it five stars is because it was a really enjoyable book and in some parts i didn't want to put it down.
