Pretty awesome. Fantasy is what originally got me into reading back in 5th grade but I haven't been so hot on it since. Not because I don't like fantasy or sci-fi, but because I hadn't read anything in awhile that lived up to the classics I devoured as a kid. I've missed CS Lewis and Ursula LeGuin and Madeleine L'Engle but now I've found Robin McKinley. Her writing reminds me of Tolkien, but with a kickass heroine instead of a hobbit. I thought about this book all day at work and wouldn't talk to anyone at lunch so I could slip into McKinley's world completely. I can't wait to read The Blue Sword if it's anything like The Hero and the Crown.
