Venetia Oglivie has been kidnapped though she does not know it, Lord Ravenscroft was hoping she would marry him but he does not know Venetia very well! When Lord Gregor MacLean arrived to take her riding with him the house was in uproar because she has gone missing, her father begged Gregor to bring her back with her reputation intact.

Gregor’s family has been cursed and because of this when they lose their temper the weather changes, Gregor usually can control his temper quite well but right now he can’t so there is a snow storm in April which is unheard of. As soon as Venetia sees the weather change though she thinks of her close friend Gregor and wonders what has made him angry.

By the time Gregor catches up with the ill fated pair Venetia is not very happy as she does not think she needs rescuing, in the meantime they, along with a few other people are stuck at a country inn because of the bad weather. In the close proximity of the inn Gregor and Venetia start to look at each other differently and wonder what has happened to their relationship.

This was a good story and is part of a series of 5 books about the MacLeans, 4 brother’s and a sister.
