** spoiler alert ** I would say more like 3.5

There were a lot of parts that dragged in the book, almost to the point where if I had a physical book, I'd have just skipped ahead a chapter.

I didn't feel like the author really showcased the love between Sam and Grace as she had before. I felt when it was Grace who was empty without Sam in the earlier books, you felt it, but here, it was almost glossed over.

Spoilery things:

I hated the resolution to Isabel's story. I mean I love she stood up for them in the end, but I guess I just felt like the lack of any sort of hint at a future between her and Cole in the end was lackluster. "Don't lose my number" is hardly what I would consider hopeful. It was clear these two were drawn together.

I did love how Cole was the hero here, in many ways redeeming himself for everything.

I loved the scenes with Beck and cried over him.

I loved how at the end, it really was Sam who saved them all, the best among them. He was always meant to be their leader but always shied away from that role out of fear because Sam was not the "take charge guy".

I also didn't like the lack of "how will the cure affect Grace" at the end. I mean does she live? I don't know, I didn't want "and they all lived happily ever after" but I think it would have been better ended with her coming back to him - cured and then fade to black.

I guess I just didn't connect to this book the same way I had the other two.
