Great book by Sandra Brown that kept you guessing throughout if the judge's wife is a cold hearted killer or if her life really is in danger. The character's that were interwoven into the story were very real, especially that of lead detective Duncan Hatcher. You saw many sides of him: the hard nosed detective; the pastor's son struggling with moral issues; and the man falling in love with a supsect. I also liked the fact that Duncan's partner was a women (that he was not romantically involved with). It added a whole different perspective to the story. This is one of the first books I have read from Sandra Brown and I can't wait to read more!
