The great stock market crash of 1929 causes a series of events to occur for Oscar and his dad.The bank forcloses on their home and the bank president takes their model train collection too. Oscar's dad heads to California from Ohio to find a new job , leaving Oscar in the care of his less than charming Aunt Carmen. Oscar's model trains are on display for Christmas at the bank. On one of his many visits he witnesses a bank robbery. As Oscar is pursued by robbers he "jumps on" the blue comet, a model train and heads to California.Amazing adventures ensue. What a ride-what a read!
