A couple of funny parts. Fun, short read, for anyone who has lived in France and likes gardening. However, the author seems to miss the point most of the time--it's his first time gardening, but he's so full of himself, he doesn't seem to be able to learn anything about gardening, or France, for that matter. This is part of why I don't enjoy most memoirs...who is egotistical enough to write whole books about themselves? Well, plenty of people, apparently. But that doesn't mean I enjoy reading what they have to say... I think I'm still bitter from Liz Gilbert's "Committed."
