it was amazing
bookshelves: teen-fiction
Read from April 13 to 18, 2011

Losing a notebook containing your secret to-do list is bad enough, but having to complete a good portion of what’s on the list in order to get the notebook back, is basically blackmail. Oh, and did I mention that your ex-boyfriend’s group of friends are the ones that have the notebook? Welcome to Eliza’s world, where one night of dares turns into an unexpected adventure of friendship, love, and finding out who you really are.

I loved this book! It reminded me a lot of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist (the movie, since I haven’t read the book), because it also takes place over the course of one night in New York City. Eliza’s antics were entertaining, as were the interactions between her and her ex-boyfriend Cooper. I loved how at first she was hesitant to do anything on the list but then later on found the courage to face her fears. Anything by Barnholdt is basically on auto-buy for me now, especially since they’re standalone novels, which makes them even more enjoyable to read.
