Margolin bring backs some characters from Executive Privilege in this character laden story that alternates going back in time then into the future. Brad Miller is engaged to Ginny and clerking for a Supreme Court justice and Dana Cutler has settled into her career as a PI and into a healthy, romantic relationship.

A death row appeal comes to the court and the violence comes fast and furiously. The body count in this book is pretty high and the level of conspiracies even higher. I found it far-fetched but entertaining.
