Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, for me I started off Kenyon's DH series with Ash's book and because of that, all the other Dark Hunters seem to pale in comparison. Because how can you compare them to that tortured, beautiful hero that is Ash? Answer: you can't.
That was until I got my hands on Zarek's book. Zarek is no Ash, but he holds his own in my heart. He's tortured, he's beautiful and he's so damn understandable that even when he's being a Class A Jackass, you can't help but want to take his book to bed with you and snuggle it. And maybe figure out a way to rip Zarek from the pages and do...uh..unspeakable things to him.
I loved Astrid, which was surprising, because so often the Love Interest is just there. An element needed for the story, but nothing more. Astrid, with her spunk, her commitment to The Right Thing and her ability to screw the rules and damn the consequences for her man had me cheering for the pair the get. Add in Simi and Sasha and Dance With the Devil easily became one of my favorites in the series.
