This book is seriously pretentious, mostly in regards to books and music. That being said... I loved this story. There is friendship and death, family and first love, music and boners. I loved Lenny's connection through music and that band was such a major part in her life. While Lenny is a bit of a book snob, I think most teens will find something of themselves in her, whether it is the love of reading, the crazy best friend, the band geekiness, the first love, and a completely crazy family. And if you can't relate to her, then you'll want to.

One for slightly older readers. There is some discussion of sex (while it doesn't actually happen), and many references to boners. But face it, that's what happens to teenage boys. Still, a great read for someone wanting drama.
