I absolutely loved The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. So, I had been hesitant to read any of her other books because I felt that there was no way she could equal or surpass this iconic book. But, I was encouraged by several friends to give The Lacuna a try. Well, it is indeed wonderful and clever (meaning wonderful plot) in the same ways as The Poisonwood Bible. I would now like to read more about Joe McCarthy and the fear that there was a communist under every bed and in every closet after World War II.
