This book...this book! All I have to say is, you sure can tell Mr. Dickens got paid by the word when he wrote it. It took me forever to "read" (aka listen to whilst at the gym, driving to New York to visit my parents, or running), and I must say, I feel kind of proud to have finished it, as if I actually read it myself as a child or something. On that subject, I don't recommend listening to it if you're tired and driving, because it may lull you to doze off. I must admit, I don't understand everything that happened, probably because I got a little distracted while listening to it several times. But no matter, I think I have the general gist of it all, and I'm glad to be done. Despite not captivating my attention the entire time, it is nevertheless an interesting tale of a young man who experiences dozens of setbacks and remains a good person while conquering most of them. Now, as a reward to myself for finishing this tome, I will read five Nancy Drew books in a row.
