The Iron Knight marks a dramatic conclusion to Julie Kagawa’s Iron Fey series. Weaving together all the beauty and wonder that has made this series so captivating, The Iron Knight explores the darkest places of the Nevernever as Ash faces truths, challenges and revelations in his quest for a soul; racing towards a climax that will leave you breathless!
In all honestly I’m saddened to see this series come to an end, but I found this book to be a very fitting end to a series that has taken me on highs and lows, through danger and adventure, shown me love and heartbreak and ultimately captured me with each and every book. Julie Kagawa has created a gem right here, with a world and characters beautiful in their own rights and magic when she put them together. Every page, ever book has just gotten better and better and Kagawa proves she can still knock our socks off with more twists and turns, and shocks and revelations than I knew what to do with in this book!
There wasn’t a moment during Ash’s adventure that I was bored or able to be dragged away. It was stunning watching as he and Puck travelled far and wide as part of their journey to find Ash a soul. Of course it was fantastic seeing Puck (AKA Robin Goodfellow) return in all his pesky glory, creating more mischief and making me smile even when ten seconds before I’d wanted to cry. Brimming with old friends and new, all of which helped Ash in some way or another, this story takes us into the heart and head of Ash, allowing us a glimpse into the very depth of the Winter Prince. This book is an emotional roller-coaster ride as Ash faces his past in an attempt to find his future. Just when it seemed like we all knew what would happen with this book, Ash is faced with not one, but two equally difficult choices to make in his quest to return to Megan.
I really felt for Ash in this book—it was impossible not to, but I feel like he really cemented and proved why he is, and will always be, one of the best male leads in YA fiction. We’ve all known Ash had led a hard life, and had done some horrible things but in this book the reality really sinks in as we see the horrors Ash was a part of and the blood that once stained his hands. We must face the horror of his past with our hero as he attempted to pass his tests and return to his love. I think Ash grew so much in this book and it was brilliant to see.
Now I’m not going to go into a lot of detail for fear of giving too much away, but throughout the series we’ve watched Ash morn his lost love, even as he fell for Megan and in Iron Knight Ash faces a revelation and choice I doubt any of us readers ever expected he’d face. Julie Kagawa certainly knows how to pull our heart strings, but in the end Ash made the right decision. We all knew he loved Megan, but by throwing in this twist Kagawa has truly validated their love and proven that it really is the real deal; that it’s stronger than anything else.
There were heart-wrenching moments and throughout the whole book you truly do wonder how it will end. Nothing ever seemed safe, even towards the end of the book when everything seemed to come crashing down, before soaring higher and higher than before.
There’s been pain and tears, laughter and joy and heart-breaking sorrow, but in this book we finally find the ending we were all searching for as The Iron Fey series comes to a close. As we face the final chapter in what truly has been an incredible series, Kagawa delivers one of the best books and doesn’t disappoint as she ends the series with endless hope and possibilities and I’m sure leaves us all wishing we could get our hands on the spin-off right now.....

I hope so, but i want Ash to be with Megan at the end of Iron Queen, so i'm worries that this will mean they will part....
Let's just say that the ending will make any Ash/Meaghan fan cry their eyes out. But I do have faith in them being together!
Oh, god! That can't be good. So i'd better start stock piling the tissues now, huh?I have my suspicions about what will happen, but i will say you're lucky to have read it so early. I'd die to get my hands on a copy so soon, lol. I honestly think The Iron King was one of the best books to come out in 2010 and of course Iron Daughter that followed.
Yeah, I absolutely loved the Iron Fey series and it's just... wonderful. If you love The Iron King and The Iron Daughter, I think you will seriously fall deeper in love with The Iron Queen and Ash because this book is his time to shine. :D But yes, I'm pretty sure that you've heard how heart-wrenching the ending will be and it's just. Wow. Either way, I'm looking forward to getting the real thing early February!
It really is. The world is so beautiful....and Ash? What can i say....he's just so...so...so Ash! That's fantastic, i'd love to see more of him than what i did in Iron Daughter.
You'll re-read it right? Lol, it's just that good.
But The Iron Knight takes place after The Iron Queen, is that correct? It's not supposed to be a prequel or something is it? That's the only thing i'm worried about, seeing as this was originally a trilogy.
Yes! I will absolutely read it because I did after all read only the arc and some things will change. And no, haha. The Iron Knight will be a sequel to the Iron Queen which makes a lot of sense after you read it. But yeah, I also thought that this series was going to be a trilogy.. sorta? The Iron Knight won't have Meaghan as the POV anymore but Ash so I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm really glad Julie Kagawa decided to write another book. I was already upset that The Iron Queen was going to be the last book. Oh, that sounds fabulous! Ash has always been a mysterious character and i never seem to know quite what he's thinking or feeling. It'll be wonderful to get an insight into him and get more of him.
Wonder about the same... I'm reading the Iron Queen right now and I'm so scared something bad will happen.

I just read the book. How amazing it is. There's no way I can wait for the fourth book!

Yes gals.....just rub it in that I haven't read the Iron Queen yet *sulks* haha, kidding....well, not really, but w/e..... XD
LOL! No worries, it will come pretty soon. :D It's already December and I hear it's going to come out around January 25th instead of February.
Oooohhh, really? Early, that would be fabulous. I know it's not really that far away, but the more i hear about it the more i really want it.
Now you have made me extremely nervoussss. I want to know what this is really about and what happens with Megan/Ash.
LMAO!!! Good idea! As long as we hide under the blankets, everything will work out for the best. Blankets have magical powers of safety and love.

XDYep.... they're so much more than measly pieces of fabric that keep us warm. They offer us protection for even the most deadly of things. Except when i come after Fang. Then no blanket could possibly save you.
That's what you think. *grins secretively* I have special blankets of invisibilty. You will NEVER find us!!

Daaaamn....i got nothing for that one! Damn-it, damn it, damn it! You won this round, but just you wait. I'll be back with a vengeance.
In The Iron Queen?? Do you really want me to spoil it? Trust be, you don't! Oh, but it was brilliant! Best book in the series so far. It was wonderful and heartbreaking--I loved it!
I cries FOUR times within the last 20 pages. We can protest outside Julie's house together if Iron Knight doesn't end well, haha >:)

It's so sexy. ;) I can't wait to get my hands on this cover! LOL I literally hyperventilated when I saw Ash.
Ahhhhhhh. Covers with hot guys beat covers with pretty girls any day. *drools* In fact, he's prettier than the girls lol.

I just saw the cover for the first time! YUM! Ha, it looks good, he looks even better. ;) Rachel, it's your fault that I love this series so much. I went to KMart today and they didn't have them so next week. I just got a bike... oh my, I bet the library has them! I'm going, now! Oh and I bought Burned and Blood Promises at KMart today, vampire YA love. <3
Diana~ wrote: "Haha! I'm going to put mine on a pedestal at first and stare at it."Hmmm, maybe I should do that too! Lmao!
Krista (One Love) (Critical) wrote: "Oh yeah! Mine's going to be on display so I can look at it whenever I want (aka every second)."LOL! I wonder if it's possible for a book to get worn out by someone simply looking at it? If it's possible that's what's gonna happen. Haha!

There's nothing not good about this series. Except the ending of a certain book, which I will not name *sobs*
