This is probably one of my favorite Ann Rinaldi books. The Salem Witch Trials are a very interesting time in history and harder to understand than say, the American Revolution which has many historical fiction books written about it.

The characters are very interesting and I appreciated that it was very factually accurate. Susannah is a sympathetic character and her unique perspective adds to the book. Rinaldi does a good job of giving enough explanation of the cause of the hysteria to satisfy readers but still leaving it open to some interpretation.
