i still think aly/taybur would be so much better, but OH WELL. nawat's speech ("if i go to the Peaceful Realms tomorrow, or the day after, i want to go with the taste of you on my lips.") was sweet and hot and heart-breaking and perfect, so i have made my peace with him.

otherwise, this book was wonderful and i love the darkings more than i can tell you and i made a lot of heart-hands while reading this today.

on a related note, i have finished my tortall reread. i love this 'verse so much, you guys. it is probably my favorite fictional universe ever. i mean, there are lots of 'verses i love- harry potter, black jewels, locke lamora, firefly, hdm, whatever- but none really fill me with as much love and happiness and a sense of home like these do. plus none of these books break my heart the way the rest of those 'verses do.
