Excellent. Nichols manages to keep the narrative moving with all the excitement of well-plotted fiction. The digressions from the immediate events are varied and interesting, ranging from character studies of the race participants, thoughts on what psycshological qualities would cause a person to undertake a solo round-the-world voyage, and many analyses of sailing techniques and history. Written with so much passion that I couldn't help but begin to dream of sailing myself.
