This contains the drawings of W. W. Denslow along with many, many footnotes, historical material, etc. Also pictures of productions of the Wizard of Oz.
Never having read the story before I am a bit overwhelmed with all the side notes to other editions, versions, and books in the series. Also the story does vary from the Hollywood movie with Judy Garland quite a bit.
Quiet a simple and easy read.
I have found myself thinking of this book off and on for the last several days since reading it. That's always a great sign to me!

The Land of Oz was/is my FAVORITE fantasy land. Baum wrote 14 Oz books -- and some are better than The Wizard. Let me know if you want to talk more about Oz! (and yes, the original Dorothy wore silver shoes -- but in Technicolor, it was a good choice for Judy to wear red shoes. :])

Hey Stormy, I have found myself thinking of this book off and on for the last several days since reading it. That's always a great sign to me! Which ones from the series do you really like? This version was really cool because of all the added info. It's in Tutt Library - up in the oversized book section if you want to take a look at it.
