I Shall Wear Midnight (Discworld, #38)

Yeah Terry Pratchett!
This was a welcome visit back with a good friend.
Pratchett can't write fast enough for me, but I every time i get to read another of his books, I feel anticipation, happiness and satiety.
Gushing aside, I very much enjoy Pratchett's writing style. His characters and events are full of surprises. People (or feegles) act in a predictable way up to a point, but it always seems as if everyone's actions are driven by their individual thoughts, feelings, beliefs (and magic, of course) rather than that they are directed by an author with one voice.
I had two unfortunate surprises with this book (loathe as I am to admit fault with Pratchett). First, I had a hard time remembering exactly what had happened in the previous Tiffany Aching/Feegles books.
Second, I was disappointed by the footnotes.
Usually the footnotes are a joyful digression, this time I thought about not bothering. This is only the second Pratchett book I've read on the Kindle and perhaps the problem is that moving your eyes to the bottom of the page is easier and more fluid than clicking on the footnote, but I also thought they weren't worth the trouble. The other problem may be that this is a young adult book and Pratchett's more cutting sarcastic wit and social/political humor might not be appropriate for all readers. I missed it.
