I absolutely adored this book. Edison Thomas is a middle schooler who is an inventor. He is autistic, so he doesn't understand the social cues of some of his peers, but he is absolutely brilliant. Houtman includes a lot of great scientific creativity behind his inventions, and she intersperses random facts throughout the novel to pique the reader's interest. This would be a great book for middle school teachers to use in the classroom.
