Stephanie Plum continues to grow on me. In this installment, she has to go after Uncle Mo, a man who owns and runs the local candy store and a man who is loved by everyone in the burg. This makes Stephanie a target of gossip and harassment. She talks about the Rangers which makes me giggle, because book was published in 1997 and Mike Richter was the goalie then. I was a little surprised to realize he's been with the Rangers that long and I'd been watching Richter right along with Stephanie. I also had to laugh when, during a boring stakeout, Stephanie comments that they would never make a TV show of her job. 1997 was long before Dog and My Mom the Bounty Hunter. It's funny how time can change the way we view a book or a job. :)

Stephanie is still the strong, imperfect heroine - which makes me like this series even more.
