When beginning Ford County I was pulled in to the first story, "Blood Drive". I honestly didn't like the second half of the story as much as the first. I wasn't seeing much of a point to it, which made me not as inclined to pick the book back up.
One thing I found interesting is that I haven't really liked any of the characters. I wonder why he wrote all of the characters to be so unlikable. This is a question I'd like to ask the author as I do feel it is intentional. It made it more difficult to keep picking up the book, honestly.
I felt like there were pretty much two types of characters -- lawyers and poor, uneducated people. With the title of the book being about an entire county, I had expected a more well-rounded group of characters. There was the data analyst which I enjoyed. But the stories didn't seem to have much point other than some shock value. I guess I just wasn't getting it. It wasn't on the top of my book list, I have to admit.
