The Whole Truth by David Baldacci. Action/mystery. This book is geared toward readers who are interested in government secrets/conspiracy who also like action and mystery.
I thought that this book was a really good. I liked how there was a balance of action and mystery intertwined throughout the book keeping my attention. I related to this book by the interest in if the government tells the truth or not. The ending was a little disappointing and slow but I think the overall book was really good and put out a really good moral. I enjoyed the in depth action scenes in the book as they were well described, not missing a detail. I really related in this book by the fact that everything was seen in detail, just as I do.
The story starts off in the lives of two totally different people, Nicolas creed, a very material person and rich, another Shaw, had been forced to work as a international police, keeping the world safe, not seeming to care to work here as he was forced to work there. In the first part of the story molds the rest of the book, a hoax was made to make the russians look like evil killers as a man claimed the name Kostain had said in a video that he was killed by the russian government In which creel had hired a perception management firm that helps clients stretch the truth. People began to get mad at this event and it spread around the world as a viral video and as a statement people “remember Kostain”. Creel a rich man who was a weapons dealer and contractor had set the hoax up to get nations to be ready for a war and want to buy weapons, from his company so he could make a lot of money selling weapons to these country's in fear. Most of the worlds country's ganged up on russia believing that they killed innocent people and did not trust them. Shaw being an international cop was going to marry his long lost and found girl friend anna, but he wanted to retire his dangerous job to get married but in order to quit he had to do one last mission. Shaw goes to his mission and stops a group of skin heads from commuting murder while shaws girlfriend anna, was at her job where she looked into the murder of Kostain to see if it was a real murder or a hoax where she sent a email to a blogger protesting Kostain death saying it was fake. At this library creel hired hired his firm to commit a big murder at anna's work as she knew to much, he ended up killing 29 people plus anna planting evidence that the russians did this since the chinese owned the building. Shaw came back from his mission almost dead in the hospital only to find out his fiance was murdered, shaw enraged felt he had nothing to do in life but find and kill anna's killer. Shaw looked up the situation and found who did this to his wife and found who he was and were he lived, it was creed . Shaw went to creeds boat and killed his bodyguard and came after creed as he was running away, the FBI storms the boat shaw gets arrested but shaw plants a bomb on creed and creed dies from explosion. Shaw went to jail but was later released the same day and looked back at his life to see what he has done.
David Baldacci, his purpose was to point out that only problems happen when you lie. It was a new york bestselling author. Overall this book has taught me that making bad choices will always result in problems.
