This book, "Deenie" by Judy Blume was an okay book. This book was about a young girl, about 13 or 14 years old, whose mother wanted her to become a model. This wasn't what Deenie wanted, but her mother forced her to. It was all her mother ever wanted growing up, so she thought her daughter would want the same. Deenie's mother dragged her around to different modeling agencies because she thought Deenie had what it took to be the famous model on the front of magazines. Deenie went to many differnet modeling agencies, but one of them noticed something strange about her. Deenies back wasn't normal. She couldn't walk like a model. This made her mother really mad, because this odviously meant she wouldn't ever become a model like she wanted. The rest of the story is pretty much just about her life with her back, and the brace she has to wear. I think this book was pretty good, I also think it really could relate to some girls about 13 or older. I don't think it would relate with the modeling theme, but some of the time girls or maybe even boys at this age get are pressured to do what their parents always wanted, or what their parents did growing up. What parents don't realize is that children don't always have the same intrests. In my opinion this book was pretty good. If you would like to read about these kind of experiences then i would recomend it.
