I'm so frustrated with this series!:( I wish I would have quit after book 3. I loved and cared about the characters then! This author has a wonderful imagination and a great flare for description and angsty relationships full of drama that I love. BUT....the relationship drama has changed. I no longer CARE! I give ONE star for the large amount of bad/inappropriate content, 2 stars for added characters I didn't care about, and FIVE stars for the MAIN story line. Overall, I'll have to go with 2 STARS. I devoured the first 3 books, was disappointed in the 4th, and started out loving this one for about a 3rd of it, then page after page starts focusing on all these different couples "getting it on". Ugh! And it happens time and time again! There is heated/sexual vampire blood drinking, faery drugs use, ect. I feel like the author has a "gay pride" agenda going on with Alec and Magnus. Also, I don't like Isabelle for Simon. And I miss the Jace, Clary, Simon triangle I think. And I'm not at all swooning over Jace like I was in the first 3 books. Probably because he's not himself(but that's the whole book!) I do love when we get to see a glimps of the old, tortured Jace when the rune is messed up for a bit near the end. The story does start getting better again then. I think Sebastian is my favorite character in this book!(That's sad!) But at this point, the only thing that can redeem this series, in my opinion, is if Sebastian is redeemed and becomes good. I do like the angle the author is taking with Jace and Sebastian being connected, and Sebastian being drawn to Clary, but there is so much other crap that I don't care about thrown in. I think she could have easily made this a 4 book series instead of 6.
