This is Book 1 in the "Dream-Hunter" series. It tells the story of Arik, a Dream-Hunter who becomes enchanted with Geary, a woman whose dreams he has inhabited for a few months. Dream-Hunters have no emotions of their own, so Arik makes a deal with the god Hades to become human for two weeks to enjoy a human relationship with Geary. Of course he is overwhelmed by all the emotions he feels as a human and falls in love with Geary.
No spoilers here, because a lot happens on their road to happiness. But I will say I had heard this series isn't as good as the "Dark-Hunter" series. However, I enjoyed this first one immensely. It started out rather strange, but soon I was laughing like crazy over the dialogue between Arik and Solin (another Dream-Hunter). Characters like Ash, Kat, and Artemis appeared, and this became a novel I ended up enjoying just as much as the Dark-Hunter novels. Definitely, a fun read.

I remember the first time I saw this book. What a lovely creature that model is!! (Ash is my fav character of the Hunter books!)
Smash, do you know the story I always tell about that cover? I was in Waldenbooks where I used to do booksignings every month until Borders closed it in January. Anyway it was a few years ago shorty after this book came out. I saw that cover and screamed, "That's Wynn!!!" Wynn is the sexy shapshifter in "What Witches Want" and "Call of the Witches" (my "Witchery Series" trilogy). Most people might not think about this but authors have a definite idea of what our yummy heroes look like. But it's always in our minds. So to actually see Wynn as I had always envisioned him on the cover of a book was a fab shock. And I have love this cover ever since for that reason. So I agree with you, gf. Damn, that man on the cover is HAWT!

Lol... I never knew.... I never consider that authors had a picture in their mind the hot men written into books ... I always thought authors had a kind of generic description of the hot looking man but managed to captivate the beauty of the physical characteristics by creating actions and dialog that draw the reader into picturing a hawty. Again, I never new... But I sure did appreciate the Author sharing the vision.
Oh, yeah, Mary. We couldn't write convincing heroes and heroines if we didn't know exactly what they look like in our minds. Or at least that is true of me. *lol* In fact, I keep a notebook just for the characters in all my series. Each character has his/her own section where I write down all the details of that character's life/history/description. No way I could remember all that stuff (like what color and make of car they drive, cat's name, etc.).
But, I tell ya, when you see the real thing...WOW! That was a fun experience for me. ;)
